Olivaro proprietary blend explained: 200 mg shared by 22 ingredients
The Olivaro proprietary blend is a single 200 mg total for 22 listed ingredients. The label prints the names in order but no amount for any of them. If the 22 were equal, each would be about 9.1 mg (200 divided by 22), but the label does not say they are equal, so no one can tell the real amounts.

The blend
What is the Olivaro proprietary blend?
It is one row on the Supplement Facts panel: a Proprietary Blend of 200 mg that lists 22 ingredients and gives no amount for any of them.
The panel prints the blend as a single weight, with the Daily Value marked as not established (†) (Olivaro label). A serving is 1 mL, so 200 mg is the total for those 22 names in each 1 mL serving. Chromium sits in its own row at 0.7 mcg and is not part of the blend.
One total
200 mg for the whole blend, per 1 mL serving.
22 names
From maca root extract first to L-carnitine base last.
No amounts
No individual amount is printed for any ingredient.
The rule
How does a proprietary blend work under FDA rules?
FDA's labeling rule lets a maker declare the blend's total weight and list its ingredients without giving each one's amount.
As the rule reads, the blend carries a name, its total weight, and its ingredients in descending order of predominance by weight (21 CFR 101.36(c), proprietary blends). Descending means the first name holds the most and the last holds the least. If the label follows that order, maca is the largest in the Olivaro blend and L-carnitine the smallest. We did not verify the order, and no amount is printed to check it against.
The same rule is why chromium has a row of its own, with a percent Daily Value, outside the blend. A 2023 review of blends notes that the weight and names are declared but not the individual amounts, which makes a blend unusable for judging a dose (Saldanha 2023, proprietary blends perspectives). A blend is a labeling format, not a finding about quality. It simply cannot be checked.
The math
How much of each ingredient could be in the 200 mg blend?
Any one ingredient could hold anywhere from a trace to nearly all 200 mg, and the 22 amounts must add up to that total.
The only figure we can compute is an illustration: 200 mg divided by 22 is about 9.1 mg each if the 22 were equal. The label does not say they are equal, and the descending-order rule suggests they are not. Move the slider to compare two readings, an equal split and the label order, and treat both as arithmetic, not as label facts.
22 ingredients, 200 mgPick a position in the label order to see two readings side by side. The tiles are all the same size on purpose: the label prints no amount for any ingredient.
- If split equally
- 200 / 22 = 9.1 mg each
- Label order
- Listed first
- Printed amount
- None
An equal split is arithmetic, not a finding. 200 / 22 = 9.1 mg is what each would hold only if all 22 were equal, and the label does not say they are. The label order is descending by weight (FDA rule (21 CFR 101.36(c), proprietary blends)): the first listed is the largest and the last listed the smallest. The actual amounts are not printed.
Against studies
Can the Olivaro blend reach the amounts that studies used?
For the two rows we can test, no: the whole 200 mg blend is a small fraction of the amounts the sources describe.
| Ingredient | Reference amount | Most the blend could hold | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gymnema | 400 mg three times daily = 1,200 mg, the typical dose in LiverTox (LiverTox, Gymnema) | 200 mg, if it were the whole blend | 200 divided by 1,200, about one sixth |
| L-arginine | 4 to 24 g a day in 11 trials with 387 people, which lowered systolic blood pressure by 5.4 mm Hg (Dong 2011, arginine BP) | 200 mg, if it were the whole blend | 200 mg is at most 5% of 4,000 mg |
| Any other blend ingredient | No trial at the unstated amount | 200 mg at most | Nothing to compare |
These are ceilings, not estimates: all 22 cannot be at the ceiling at once. No trial tested Olivaro, and we found no source for the amino acids L-glutamine, L-tyrosine, L-ornithine and L-tryptophan, or for GABA.

Which ingredients are in the Olivaro formula blend?
The formula blend names 22 ingredients: 12 plant extracts, raspberry ketones, 7 amino-acid ingredients, GABA and a licorice-derived compound.

Row 1: Chromium (as chromium picolinate): 0.7 mcg, 2% of the Daily Value.

What to ask
What can you ask the seller about the 200 mg blend?
Ask for the amount of each of the 22 ingredients and for a lab report. We found no published answer to either.
- The amount of each blend ingredient, in mg, per 1 mL serving.
- A lab report that matches the lot: the lot O-26/OL-2915 and CoA O-2915-26-OL are seller references, not lab proof.
- The dropper volume, because the label prints 1 or 2 droppers but not how many mL they hold.

Before you take it
Is it a problem that the amounts are not printed?
It is a problem for anyone who needs to know what they take, such as people on medicine, because the label cannot tell you whether an ingredient is near an amount that matters.
If you take insulin or diabetes pills, ask a clinician or pharmacist before adding any supplement, and never stop or change a prescribed medicine because of one. Signs of severe low blood sugar (confusion, fainting, seizure), chest pain or trouble breathing: call 911. Stop and seek care for dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or belly pain, because gymnema and green tea extract have rare liver case reports. Pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18 and anyone with a known medical condition should ask a physician first. Xylitol, among the other ingredients, is dangerous for dogs.
FAQ
Olivaro proprietary blend: common questions
What is a proprietary blend on a supplement label?
It is a group of ingredients listed under one total weight, with no amount for each. FDA's rule asks for the blend's name, its total weight and its ingredients in descending order of predominance by weight. The individual amounts stay unknown.
How many ingredients are in the Olivaro blend?
The blend lists 22 ingredients, from maca root extract first to L-carnitine base last. They share 200 mg per 1 mL serving. Chromium at 0.7 mcg is a separate row, and nine other ingredients follow below the panel.
How much of each ingredient is in the 200 mg blend?
The label does not say. If the 22 were equal, each would be about 9.1 mg (200 divided by 22), but the label does not say they are equal. Any single ingredient could hold more or far less.
Why does the blend order matter?
Under the rule, ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, so the first name holds the most. If Olivaro follows it, maca is largest and L-carnitine smallest. We did not verify that, and no amounts are printed.
Can the blend hold a studied dose of gymnema?
Not likely. LiverTox gives 400 mg three times daily, or 1,200 mg, as a typical dose, and the whole blend is 200 mg. Gymnema could hold at most about one sixth of that, and the label prints no gymnema amount.
Does the Olivaro blend include an olive ingredient?
No. None of the 22 names is an olive leaf, fruit or extract, even though the brand name suggests olive. The list runs from maca to L-carnitine, and the label prints no olive ingredient anywhere.
