Guarana and caffeine
Guarana caffeine: how much is in a liquid supplement?
Guarana caffeine is real: guarana seeds can hold up to 6% caffeine, per one review. The Olivaro label lists guarana and green tea in its 200 mg blend but prints no caffeine amount, so a reader cannot count it against FDA's 400 mg a day reference. We found no study of this liquid.

Short answer
How much guarana caffeine is in Olivaro?
Guarana caffeine in Olivaro is unknown: the Supplement Facts panel names guarana seed extract and green tea leaf extract but prints no caffeine amount.
A review of guarana says the seeds can hold up to 6% caffeine and are used mostly in soft and energy drinks (Schimpl 2013, guarana review). That describes seeds, not an extract in a 200 mg blend of 22 names, so it cannot become milligrams here.

Guarana tea
Is guarana tea the same as green tea?
No, guarana and green tea are different plants, and the Olivaro blend lists both.
Guarana comes from seeds, green tea from a leaf. Olivaro is a liquid dropper, not a tea.
Both are caffeine sources. FDA gives 400 mg a day as a level not generally linked to dangerous effects in most healthy adults, and notes that supplements add to the total (FDA, Spilling the Beans caffeine). That is a reference level, not a dose in the bottle.
Caffeine and glucose
Does caffeine affect blood sugar?
Possibly in some people, but we found no source in our set that measures caffeine's effect on blood sugar, so we do not state one.
What we can report concerns green tea, which carries caffeine. A meta-analysis of 6 trials in 382 people with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes found no difference in HbA1c or fasting glucose with green tea (Yu 2017, green tea glycemic meta). No trial tested Olivaro, and none used its unstated amount.
For guarana we found no glucose trial at all.
Chromium
Little22 of 100
NIH says the effect on glucose in people with diabetes is small and its significance unclear; the label's 0.7 mcg is 2% of the Daily Value. (NIH ODS, Chromium) (Zhao 2022, chromium type 2 diabetes meta)
Gymnema
Little18 of 100
Small, mixed studies at amounts far above anything the 200 mg blend could hold for one ingredient. (Devangan 2021, gymnema type 2 diabetes meta) (LiverTox, Gymnema)
Green tea and guarana
Little15 of 100
Trials of green tea show little glycemic effect; both are caffeine sources, and the label prints no amounts. (Yu 2017, green tea glycemic meta) (Schimpl 2013, guarana review)
Ginseng and herbs
Little15 of 100
Small trials of single herbs at studied amounts; none at the unstated amounts in this blend. (Shishtar 2014, ginseng glycemic meta) (Hong 2024, astragalus type 2 diabetes meta)
Amino acids
Very little5 of 100
No human trial found at the unstated amounts, so there is nothing to set the label beside. (Saldanha 2023, proprietary blends perspectives)
Our reading of the sources, not a measurement. Each needle is an editor's judgment of how well human studies support the label's blood sugar lines for that ingredient group, at studied amounts. It does not rate Olivaro: no study tested the liquid or this 22-ingredient blend.

Who should ask a clinician before using guarana caffeine?
Anyone sensitive to caffeine, or with sleep trouble, anxiety, a fast heartbeat or a heart-rhythm condition, should ask a clinician or pharmacist first.
- Count coffee, tea and energy drinks against the 400 mg a day reference.
- Ask a pharmacist if you take heart, blood pressure or diabetes medicine.
- The label says pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18 and people with a known medical condition should consult a physician.
Keep taking prescribed medicine. Signs of severe low blood sugar (confusion, fainting, seizure), chest pain or trouble breathing: call 911. Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes: stop and get care, since LiverTox lists green tea extract in liver injury case reports (LiverTox, green tea).

FAQ
Olivaro questions people ask
Is guarana stronger than coffee?
One review says seeds hold up to 6% caffeine, but the result depends on the preparation. For Olivaro it cannot be answered, because the label prints no guarana or caffeine amount.
Can I take Olivaro in the evening if I am caffeine sensitive?
We cannot say, since the label prints no caffeine amount and lists two caffeine sources. If sleep or anxiety is a concern, ask a clinician or pharmacist first.
Does the label call Olivaro caffeine-free?
No. The label does not use that phrase, and it names guarana and green tea in the blend. We do not call it caffeine-free either, because no caffeine amount is printed.
